American soldiers assigned in the Philippines threw a party for two Zamboanga City orphanages as part of their community relations enhancement program.

Some 80 orphans from the St Francis House (SFH) and the Reception and Study Center for  Children (RSCC) of Talon- Talon, this city, were all gathered in one event last April 12 at the SFH compound in Pasonanca.

Col. Robert C. McDowell, commander of the Joint Special Operations Task Force -Philippines, led the group of American soldiers to the said community outreach  together with  JOSTF outgoing chaplain Christopher Rice and incoming chaplain Cynthia Turner.

The visiting US soldiers treated the orphans of SFH and RSCC headed by Fr. Arthur Winokoff and Flordeliza Nicanor, respectively, with lots of games, foods and prizes for various games and activities.

The JOSTF soldiers have been regular visitors of the SFH children who are also members of the Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines with their volunteer Scoutmaster Bong Bue doing the scouting day every Saturday.
