Brigada Eskwela got the needed support as NCCC Cares joined this year’s annual weeklong school clean-up activity in Davao City.

Ann Katherine Cabaylo- NCCC Cares project officer turned over paint and assorted painting materials to Matina Aplaya Elementary School Principal Dominador Dagohoy.

Matina Aplaya Elementary School has a population of about 1,400 students, among them Sama Badjao children who reside at the coastline of Matina Aplaya. The school has been a recipient of assistance facilitated by the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). Foremost among them was the supplemental feeding project funded by Leslie Food Corporation and chairs assistance project bankrolled by Citibank.

Students, parents, teachers, local officials, business groups and individuals participated in this year’s Brigada Eskwela clean-up campaign. The Department of Education (DepEd) is mainstreaming disaster preparedness as part of its Brigada Eskwela initiative. – Danny V. Escabarte
