The ZamboangaCity Water District (ZCWD) participated in the Bayanihan Team with the Joint Task Group Zamboanga, 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, and the Philippine Army for a community dialogue at Barangay Taluksangay, yesterday.

The program was part of the Internal Peace and Security Plan “Bayanihan” for Barangay Taluksangay.

Even if Taluksangay is not within the service area of the water district, ZCWD can undertake advocacy activities such as Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. Also, ZCWD,continues to deliver potable water to the IDPs at the Taluksangay resettlement area.

The primary objective of WASH is to disseminate information about health and good nutrition, clean environment, water sanitation and responsible hygiene practices, among others, with the end view of enabling community awareness that a healthy environment contributes to overall progress and development.

Relatedly, the community dialogue also discussed the various plans, programs and projects of various government agencies, non-government organizations (NGOs) and the local government which Taluksangay can avail. — Montee E. Domingo-ZCWD, OIC-PRO
