Peace Advocates Zamboanga (PAZ) has opened the nomination for its annual Peaceweaver Awards and will accept nominations until November 15.

The award is given by PAZ and its partner Interreligious Solidarity for Peace (ISP) during the Week of Peace celebration, which this year will fall on November 27 – December 3.

Nominees may be an individual or organization. An individual nominee must be endorsed other by himself/herself, supported by at least two independent testimonies, which need not be supported by documentations.

According to the nomination guidelines, the “Award is given to individual (living or dead) and/or groups (associations, organizations, institutions and communities) who have demonstrated selfless service to others;

“Promoted harmony between and among persons, communities, etc. . . have actually taken steps to bring people in conflict together in order to resolved the conflict and arrive at certain understanding;’

“Have modeled a way of relating with people that shunned prejudice or conditions of unpeace; have organized or implemented a significant role in programs that promoted respect and appreciation for persons/institutions and what they value; have performed specific actions that led to a higher level of peace in the community.”

Nominations shall be screened by a PAZ-ISP committee. No fees shall be collected.
