In line with its commitment to continuously upgrade and expand its services, the Zamboanga City Water District completed six projects this year 2014.

During the 2nd quarter of this year, the water district completed the rehabilitation of the existing 100mmÆ GI bridge crossing which involved the laying of 18 linear meters of 100mmÆ GI pipeline along Morning Glory in Barangay Putik. The other Barangay to benefit from the rehabilitation project is Sta. Maria with the laying of 18 linear meters of 200mmÆ CLCS pipeline along Sta. Maria Park.

Meanwhile, the construction/rehabilitation/improvement of the water system in Pasobolong-Culianan amounting to of Php1.2M was completed on June 8, 2014. The water district was able to install 3,834 linear meters of 100mmÆ PVC pipeline along the boundary of Boalan-Culianan-Cabaluay (entrance of Guisao).

During the 3rd quarter, the office completed 2 projects, namely: the construction/improvement/rehabilitation of the pipelines in Mampang and Arena Blanco which consists of the laying of 3,590 linear meters of 100mmÆ PVC and the transfer of 38 units service lines and which amounts to Php4.7M, and the installation of 1,170 linear meters of 100mmÆ PVC pipelines and 6 units fire hydrants with concrete barricade as well as the transfer of 40 units service line at Johnston Subdivision in Baliwasan.

With the completion of these projects, water pressure in said service areas will improve and problem on non-revenue water will be addressed, while the commissioning of additional service lines in the east coast will eventually mean more people will have access to potable water by the end of 2014.
