Rubber industry stakeholders from the four corners of the world are set to converge in Singapore on March 24-25 for the World Rubber Summit 2015.

To be spearheaded by the International Rubber Study Group, in partnership with SingEx Exhibitions, the World Rubber Summit will also be conducted alongside Tyrexpo Asia, the Rubber Exchange Forum, and other equally important seminars, workshops, and initiatives related to the rubber industry.

Along these activities, three panel sessions will be conducted by industry leaders and experts that will define the industry’s future direction in the ever-changing global market.

For tyre industry, the panel will discuss its future with the goal of addressing the impact of growth in emerging markets over the next 10 years and its direct impact in the dramatic increase of vehicle ownership, countered by the developed market’s efforts to reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

The second panel session is focused on the productivity of natural rubber producers. This includes the methods used to increase production, rewarding smallholders and meeting Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability expectations throughout the value chain.

And finally, the third session will focus in the optimisation of supply chain from planting to finished product (tire). The discussion’s point of interest is on the importance of logistics or supplies, and critical issues confronting the global rubber industry from production to the market, and all the processes in between.

Speakers for the three panel sessions include the Secretary General for Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA) Rajiv Budhraja; Fazilet Cinaralp, Secretary General for the European Tyre Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA); and Sheela Thomas, Secretary General for the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC).

IRSG announced that the keynote speaker for the World Rubber Summit 2015 is no less than Luc Minguet, Senior Vice President of Michelin; one of the world’s top tyre manufacturers. The theme for two-day summit is “Productivity and Sustainability for tomorrow’s Market – What drives it?”

IRSG is an organization within the rubber industry that creates platform for rubber producers and consumers from all sectors of the industry, natural rubber, synthetic rubber, tyre sector, rubber processors, traders, financial sector, and consultants, among others to discuss relevant issues to the integrated global rubber value chain.
