Ø Authorities continue to investigate the real cause and motive of the explosion in Guiwan Friday afternoon. Per record from the City Health Office, the incident claimed the life of Reynaldo Tan, 39 years old of Talabaan and wounded 48 others (those treated in hospitals). The City Government in coordination with the Department of Health, the two congressional representatives and the Zamboanga City Medical Center for the provision of medical assistance to the victims.

Ø The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat) started Friday the conduct of a series of workshops for recovery, rehabilitation, and sustainable development of Zamboanga City to incorporate the recovery and rehabilitation actions and strategies into LGU mandated plans to ensure sustainability of initiatives, and to initiate the local development planning process.
