2015 Golden Crescent screening results bared PDF Print E-mail

Prof. Ali T. Yacub, Al-Hj., founder of the Golden Crescent Achievement Awards, Leadership Category and concurrently president of the Golden Crescent Consortium of Peace Builders and Affiliates, has confirmed the results of the final screening of the Awards Committee recently.

The final screening of applicants for the Golden Crescent Achievement Awards was held at the Executive Conference Room, Executive Building, Western Mindanao State University on February 28, 2015.

The successful nominees who will receive Leadership Medallions and Certificates of Recognition who are confirmed awardees coming from 17 High Schools in the city are as follows: ABDULMUDAR N. ARABBAYA (ARENA BLANCO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL LANDANG GUA (ANNEX)); CAURELOU S. PITUC (AYALA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); GLENN RJ A. SENARA (AYALA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); MELISSA F. FERNANDO (BOLONG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); MASALUDDIN L. KARMAN (CABALUAY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); PERLIN ERLUALLE JEANE B. PRIAS (DON PABLO LORENZO MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL); ANGELICA ROSE D. TINDOC (DON PABLO LORENZO MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL); ABUCIT JUMAT LADJAMATLI (MARIA CLARA LOBREGAT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); AMARI A. TAMBANG (RECODO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); LEEYHEN MARIE S. BALDIANGO (REGIONAL SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL); RICA MICHELLE V. AGUILAR (SANGALI NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); MARK ANTHONY MAHINAY (SINUBONG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); SHAYESHA ELYSA R. TAN (SINUNUC NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); ANGELIKA MAE M. LEDESMA (TALISAYAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL); ADZMAN A. AJAHARUN (TUAN DATU HAJI ABDULLA NUNO MEM. HIGH SCHOOL); SHAINA F. ABBILUL (ZAMBOANGA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (WEST)); ABDILLASIS S. LAKBAO (ZAMBOANGA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (WEST)).

Out of the 53 nominees interviewed by the AWARDS COMMITTEE chaired by Dr. Salihmatal Lagbas (VP for External Affairs, GCCPBA), 17 passed.  Out of the 17 schools which applied earlier, four schools failed to participate during the final screening.

The schools that joined the interview according to Prof. Yacub were: Zamboanga National High School – West, Regional Science High School, Cabaluay National High School, Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School, Arena Blanco High School – LandangGua (Annex), Sinubong National High School, Talisayan National High School, Sinunuc National High School, Maria Clara Lobregat National High School, Ayala National High School, Tuan Hji. Datu Abdulla Nuño Memorial High School, Sangali National High School, and Recodo National High School.

The four schools that failed to participate in this year’s Search of the Golden Crescent Achievement Awards for Leadership Awardees are: Arena Blanco National High School, Baluno National High School, Bunguiao National High School, Capisan National High School, and Tictapul National High School, Yacub said.

He added that only three from the ORIGINAL 10 SCHOOLS which were earlier in the Roster of the Golden Crescent Achievement Awards remained as participating schools, namely: Regional Science High School, Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School, and Zamboanga National High School – West. The rest of the 10 original schools opted not to participate with no reason given.

The members of the Panel of Interviewers during the final screening were: Prof. Yacub, Dr. Salihmatal Lagbas, Prof. Amyra Mohammad, Prof. Alrashid T. Jama, Ms. Aljihan R. Edding, Hja. Neneng Luy-Salikala, Mr. Antonio (Tonti) Salcedo, Jr., USC-WMSU president, and Mrs. Josephine B. Sanchez.
