One hundred outstanding Filipino high school students and supervisors will be part of the summer camp delegation at the historic Fujian Normal University (FNU) in China which aims to better understand the Chinese language and culture and improve the communication between Philippine and Chinese middle school students.

Organized by the Confucius at the Angeles University Foundation (CI-AUF) led by AUF President and CI-AUF Chairman Atty. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles, the Chinese Bridge –Philippine Secondary Schools Summer Camp will be held on October 26 – November 7, 2010 at the FNU, one of China’s most prestigious teaching universities with a history of 103 years.

The Philippine delegation, chosen from all over the country, will participate in the two-week Chinese Language Study and Cultural Experience with outstanding Chinese high school students from FNU.

Organized in celebration of the 35th anniversary of RP-China diplomatic relations, the summer camp is sponsored by the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) and the Confucius Institute Headquarters.

Chinese Ambassador Liu Jianchao and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Armin Luistro will address the delegation during the send-off ceremony on October 26 at the De La Salle Greenhills auditorium.

The following schools are participating in the summer camp: Angeles University Foundation Integrated School, La Salle Greenhills, University of the Philippines Integrated School, San Beda College, Assumption Antipolo, Ramon Magsaysay Cubao High School, Makati High School, The Philippine Chinese Language & Culture Institute, Jose Abad Santos High School, Manila Science High School, Araullo High School, Saint Jude Catholic School, De La Salle Lipa, Olongapo City National High School, Pasay City Science High School, Northwestern Visayan Colleges, University of St. La Salle Lipa, and Psalms Academy School.
