Multi-million agrarian infra support projects to be implemented in Bayog PDF Print E-mail

BAYOG, Zamboanga del Sur — Officials from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office together with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) visited Bayog to check on the status of the proposed irrigation and farm to market roads to be implemented under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support project (ARISP) III.

During the forum held on Thursday (August 11,2011), Mayor Leonardo L. Babasa, Jr. warmly received the officials from the national government agencies mentioned. With the mayor were Engr. Jeremias E. Florida, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator; Mr. Virgilio Zamora, Executive Assistant V; Engr. Cerilo Carcueva, Exec. Asst. III and San Isidro Barangay Chairwoman Nimfa Anahao.

The feasibility study conducted by NIA on the irrigation projects and the detailed engineering on the farm-to-market road and its program of work were also presented during the forum for discussion.

Part of the topics discussed was the possible availment by the local government unit of post-harvest facility and the presentation of the status of potable water supply project documentation.

Meanwhile, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Raymundo Bernardo said the DAR-ARISP III project for the municipality will cost about more or less P40 million covering the barangays of Damit, Depore, Dipili and San Isidro. — BAG/ALT/CAL/PIA9/Zambo Sur
