Yesterday (August 21) turned out to be a “Christmas party in August” for some 70 orphans of the St Francis House in Pasonanca when personnel of the ChowKing stores in Zamboanga City came in full force for the treat.

Staff and personnel of the three branches of Chowking in Zamboanga (Chowking La Purisima, Chowking Southway and Chowking Camins) sponsored a party for the St Francis House wards inside the orphanage compound in Pasonanca.

There were games and prizes, toys, snacks, food and party bags distributed to the wards of the St Francis House managed and operated by the Our Blessed Mother of Victory Mission and Foundation Inc. founded 24 years ago by Canadian priest Fr. Arthur Winikoff.

“It’s our first time to hold such an outreach and we chose St Francis House as it is more of an organized orphanage in Zamboanga City, “ said  Jacqueline Rosales, store manager of ChowKing La Purisima who was in the company of Joanne  Pesus and Jayn Ratilla, ChowKing Southway and ChowKing Camins store managers, respectively.
“God wants us to give back to the needy ones what we earned,” said the three lady store managers of ChowKing. whose area manager is Danilo Vilda.

On hand to welcome the ChowKing people were Marissa Basilio, St Francis House administrator, board directors Rony Lledo and Architect Felipe Sy, St Francis House Scouts’ scoutmaster Bong Bue and the other social workers
