Commander Ondos N. Sahdin, spokesman of the MNLF-Nascom, Task Force Mindanao, met with MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari in Davao City last August 19 and discussed with him several issues related to efforts being undertaken to attain lasting peace in Mindanao.

Misuari, according to Ondos, has urged all MNLF commanders and members to unite and join him to work for lasting peace in Mindanao.

Ondos, a former deputy mayor of Tipo-Tipo and currently consultant of Basilan Governor Jum Akbar, asked President Noynoy Aquino to appoint him as OIC Governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) so that he will represent the MNLF and the poor people of Basilan.

“Mr. President (Aquino), there are many who are applying for the ARMM OIC governor position... Even if he is a lawyer or a doctor, but if he is not honest, there will be no reforms in ARMM,” Ondos said, addressing the president.

Ondos said he is God (Allah) fearing  and not corrupt and will not waste people’s money.

He assured that if apponted ARMM OIC governor, he will spend the money allocated for ARMM for projects and programs to improve the living condition of poor people in Mindanao.

He said that even DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo is not well aware of the true situation in Mindano “because he is not from this place.”

Ondos said that even without the screening committee, the president can appoint the ARMM OIC governor.
