A fish vendor was killed while his live-in-partner and his sister escaped unhurt in a gun attack along the junction of Tugbungan and Talon-Talon Loop last Tuesday night.

The fatality was identified as Rommel Ramilo y Bagaporo, 34, married, of Sitio Tondo, Bagong Dalan, Talon-Talon Loop.He sustained a bullet wound in the back of the body and was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

A police report disclosed that Ramilo and his live-in-partner Alma Dela Torre and his sister Amelyn Ladrazo were on their way home aboard a tricycle coming from Tetuan Police Station around 6:30 p.m. when two men riding tandem on a motorcycle tailed them. At the road junction, the backrider shot him.

The assailants sped away after the incident while the victim was rushed to the hospital.

The tricycle has a bullet hole, according to the driver.

Sources said that Ramilo and his family had just come from the Tetuan Police Station to settle a dispute after he engaged in a fist fight earlier.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Deocampo directed his men to dig deeper into the case.
