Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila De Lima on Tuesday disclosed that all available intelligence information points to the fact that Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson is in the country.

In a press conference, De Lima said that "an ongoing operation" is now underway to locate the fugitive senator.

De Lima said that the CCTV (close-circuit television) camera footage showing Lacson leaving the immigration area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Jan. 5, 2010 is just a "charade".

De Lima noted that there are two theories such that he (Lacson) did leave the country but managed to return back through the southern backdoor or that he never left the country and that the CCTV camera at the airport showing that he was leaving the country is just a "charade".

"Either one of the two theories can be true," De Lima said.

"There are specific information about the ongoing operation. However, we are not at liberty to disclose it," De Lima said.

To divulge such specific things, De Lima said, may jeopardize the "ongoing operation."
