K of C Fr. Salvador Council installation rite slated today PDF Print E-mail

The Knights of Columbus Fr. Eusebio Salvador Council No. 8330 will hold its 31st Installation of Council Officers and Induction of Service Program personnel for Columbian Year 2014-2015 starting 5:00 p.m. today at Roof Deck, Garden Orchid Hotel on Gov. Camins Avenue, this city.

Heading the list to be installed is Sir Knight Jose Q. Balenton, who succeeds SK Arturo C. Tolentino as Grand Knight of the Sta. Maria based council. SK Nelson A. Basa, district deputy and his warden SK Pelagio S. Montaño will preside over the turn-over ceremony.

City Councilor Rogelio L. Valesco, Jr. is the affair’s guest of honor and speaker. He will be introduced by the council’s in-coming advocate. The Most Reverend Romulo T. Dela Cruz, P.D., Archbishop of Zamboanga City will deliver an inspirational message.

Also to be installed are Rev. Fr. Moises M. Cuevas — council chaplain; SK Crescenciano A. Adolfo Jr., — deputy grand knight; SK Rolando G. Sison — Chancellor; SK Reinfrido E. Ruste — financial secretary; SK Joemari R. Horca — recorder; SK Hermenegildo L. Canlas Jr., — treasurer; Sir Victorino M. Telan — warden and Sirs Estanislao D. Singco and Alex G. Campos — asst. wardens.

Furthermore SK Angel M. Martinez — advocate; SK Danilo O. Macansantos — lecturer; SKs Johnny D. Pavillar, Onesimo A. Santos Jr., and Jimmy B. Tandok — trustees 1, 2 and 3 respectively; SK Antonio D. Delos Reyes — inside guard and Bro. Bernardino D. Bayot Jr., — outside guard.

The Council, founded in 1983 with the late Vice-Mayor SK Jose “Jolly” Climaco as Charter Grand Knight, has as its theme “Be Protector of God’s gift”.

Registration of either visiting guests or hosting members starts at 5:00 p.m. followed by the installation ceremony, recognition and awards program that starts with opening ode by all K of C members followed by the council chaplain’s invocation. The deputy GK delivers welcome remarks and recorder introducing guests and other VIPs in attendance.

After the fraternal dinner, the new GK will induct the different service officers and IPGK will preside over the handing of awards and to conclude, council chancellor delivers the closing remarks. Valuable prizes will be raffled off to lucky guests and knights during the fellowship as last of the four-part program with PD/SK Macansantos serving as master of ceremonies. — Sir Ller Enriquez
