Before I begin writing my column, allow me to extend my sincerest condolence to Pocholo Soliven and the rest of the Soliven and Natividad family on the demise of Teresita Natividad Soliven. Likewise with the Mangubat family on the demise of Emmanuel Mangubat, who was once our Zamboanga Columnist Club prexy. May both your souls rest in peace!

If there are no rumor mongers among us, I think life will be more peaceful. Sad to say that this is not the case as rumor mongering is here to stay. If what is being spread is only true, especially on our peace and order security, then our authorities can be forewarned in preparing precautionary measures in securing our city! Right now, because there are rumors going around that our city is still facing threat of a 2nd siege. Whether it’s true or not, it’s always good to be on the alert always. However, we can’t avoid getting the ire of people who have plans to create havoc in our City. Perhaps, in a situation like this, we can say we are adding fuel to the fire.

Now, again, in the case of Cong. Celso L. Lobregat and Mayor Beng C. Salazar, there are rumors that claim they made a pact regarding their political careers, like exchanging places again! If you ask me, that is not our business. Let’s not add fuel to the fire. Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar is doing good as Mayor of our city, same with Cong. Celso Lobregat, who was also an exemplary Mayor during his three-year term as Mayor of the city, so if he wants to serve our city for another term, let him do so! Mayor Beng still has one term to finish her 3rd term in Congress. She can always come back as Mayor as she’s undefeatable!

I can only say in French….”C’est la vie!
