LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil…” (Ecclesiastes 12:14, the Holy Bible).

THE FIGHT HAS JUST BEGAN: Many Filipinos felt insulted by the outright dismissal of the three impeachment complaints against President Aquino by the justice committee of the House of Representatives, but they say the fight has just began. Many of them are convinced that if Aquino was able to get away from the charges against him during his term, he will have to account for them once he steps down from power in 2016.

During the September 03, 2014 airing of “Tambalang Batas at Somintac” at DZEC 1062 kHz, listeners furiously sent text messages, in response to the survey question “do you agree with the dismissal of the impeachment complaints against Aquino”, which said Aquino will surely be jailed after his term.

The listeners also echoed what many other Filipinos have been saying all along: that no one among the congressmen in the present House of Representatives who received billions of pesos through Aquino’s “disbursement acceleration program” or DAP will surely vote against him. There is honor among thieves after all, our listeners appeared to be saying.

SENATE GETS PROOF 2013 POLL RESULTS TAMPERED WITH: So, what will the Commission on Elections (Comelec) do now in the face of unquestionable proof, given to the Senate, that the results it announced for the 2013 senatorial elections, culled from precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines, do not represent the true will of the electorate? The least it can do, if it is desirous of determining the true will of the people, is to junk the use of those PCOS machines right away.

But then, that is going to be the big question here—if the Comelec is really desirous of determining the true will of the people. As of now, it is evident that Comelec is nowhere near that desire. From the looks of it, it is more determined to impose its will—or the will of shady but powerful personalities—upon helpless Filipinos, using fraudulent results from PCOS machines all over again, for the 2016 elections.

Why do I say this? Because of its announced decision to use those PCOS machines, defects and all, in 2016. Sure, it appears interested to accommodate suggestions for ensuring a more transparent voting and counting in 2016. But it is insistent on using PCOS machines at all cost. The question of course is why this insistence?

COMELEC USED “TAMPERABLE” CARDS FOR 2013 POLLS: During the August 28, 2014 hearing of the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee (JCOC) under the leadership of Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III and Rep. Senen Sarmiento, Comelec officials were confronted with this data from Precinct 19 of Bgy. Concepcion, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija: the PCOS count therein for Bro. Eddie Villanueva showed he got only 278 votes.

However, on orders of the Nueva Ecija Regional Trial Court, a manual counting of the same Precinct 19 votes was ordered. This manual counting showed that Bro. Eddie got 366 votes, or 88 votes more than the PCOS count, and this shocked everyone during the JCOC hearing. Comelec officials were unable to explain this discrepancy.

Then, it also came out that what the Comelec and Smartmatic used for the 2013 elections were mere compact flash (CF) cards for the PCOS machines, which violated its own rule that the PCOS machines must have WORM (Write-Once-Read Many) cards. CF cards, it appeared, could be tampered with, while WORM cards could not be tampered with. Why did Comelec allow the use of “tamperable” cards for the elections?
