LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people…” (Proverbs 14:34, the Holy Bible).

A MESSAGE TO THOSE KILLING CHRISTIANS: Here’s a message to the people who have been killing Christians in Iraq, Syria, Libya, and in any other place where some kind of a religious war is being waged: if those that were killed were not real Christians, there would surely be no honor for the killers who have been sworn to decimate Christianity at all cost.

If, on the other hand, those that were killed were real Christians, or the kind that read the Bible, meditate on the Bible, and obey the commands of Jesus, the Christian’s God and Savior, the honor of being killed for their faith was already made known to them, and was recognized by Jesus Himself.

In John 16:2 of the Bible, Jesus said: “…in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God…” Jesus clarified: people will be killing Christians who refuse to give up their Christian faith simply because the killers do not really know God the Father, as well as Jesus. The killers do not know that Jesus is God and Savior, who has the capacity to send them and their descendants to eternal fire and worms.

TURNING AROUND PNOY’S PRESIDENCY: On July 27, 2010, in reaction to the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Aquino, I wrote something which may yet turn around his presidency. Read on: “The headlines from various newspapers are very clear on the differing sentiments of Filipinos on the first SONA… some are evidently unsatisfied whatever the Chief executive said, while some are definitely elated by his directions in solving the country’s ills.

“As far as I am concerned though, the President’s reference to the `matuwid na daan’ (loosely, the `righteous’ way) in his governance, and to God’s guidance and direction during his term, should set the tone for everyone, if we really wanted our country and our people to truly rise this time, and this tone unmistakably says it is God that we should cling to, for real and beneficial change to happen.

“While many may scoff and smirk at the President’s references to the `righteous’ way of doing things, and to his invocation of God for guidance and direction as something that is `out of this world’, it is actually the only way to assure that success and blessings, coupled with peace, prosperity and unity, would finally come our way.

PURSUING “TUWID NA DAAN” EARNESTLY: “Proverbs 14:34 of the Holy Bible says it quite emphatically: `Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people’. On the other hand, Deuteronomy 28:1-2 confirms this in this manner: `If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands… the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God…’

“We should not deluge ourselves into thinking that President Aquino can, by his lonesome (or even with the help of the people he has put in sensitive positions), transform this country from its present desperate situation to a country finally enjoying a  prosperous status.

“The real reason why the Philippines and its people are suffering great hardships is the fact that many of us have, despite our claims to the contrary, turned our backs on God, because we have stopped reading His Bible and, therefore, because we have stopped obeying His commands and decrees…Therefore, President Aquino is correct in invoking God, and in pursuing the `righteous way’ of doing things…”
