LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…`Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone’…” (Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, in John 8:7, the Holy Bible).

THE ACCUSERS AS ACCUSED, TOO: I am not condoning any graft or any corrupt practice, but I am bothered by the apparent self-corruption of some officials who have been trying to nail down other officials who allegedly amassed billions and billions of money and property despite the fact that they did not have any legitimate businesses in the past, and government positions were all that they ever had for a living.

My point is, how can any government official accuse their fellow government officials of graft and corruption and plunder when, very clearly, the official-accusers themselves have shown themselves to be similarly situated, because there is evidence that millions and millions of government money were given to them likewise, also under dubious circumstances?

To be very specific about this, I am referring to Senators Aquilino Pimentel III, Alan Peter Cayetano, and Antonio Trillanes IV who are now doing the best they can to expose the illegally-amassed wealth of Vice President Jejomar Binay and his family in the guise of a Senate investigation. Sure, Binay and family must be investigated and be penalized if the evidence warrants.

CREDIBILITY LACK IN BINAY PROBE: But, how could the investigation against them have any credibility when the lawmakers conducting the investigation—Pimentel, Cayetano, and Trillanes IV—are themselves being accused as having similarly received millions of government funds from President Aquino’s disbursement acceleration program (DAP) which is already declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court?

I believe that Pimentel, Cayetano, and Trillanes IV must also be investigated, and be made to explain and account for the DAP funds that, records released by Malabon Rep. Toby Tiangco showed earlier, were received and evidently disbursed by them. There are questions these three must answer: why did they receive the DAP funds? Are the funds really linked, as some are saying, to the ouster of Renato Corona from the tribunal?

Too, Pimentel, Cayetano, and Trillanes IV must explain where they spent the millions that have been given to them as DAP funds. It might also be good for them and the country as well to explain if, aside from these DAP funds and the funds they received as priority development assistance funds (PDAF), they further received other money or other benefits from the Aquino government.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES IN BINAY SENATE PROBE: Indeed, Pimentel, Cayetano and Trillanes must be made to explain, since they claim to be Christians in faith, the relevance of their persistence in investigating the Binays for alleged stealing of government money vis-a-viz the Biblical admonition of Jesus, our God and Savior, that only he who has no sin must cast the first stone, given in the story of the woman caught in adultery.

The three of them, if they remain to be Christians, must also explain the obvious disregard another admonition of Jesus Christ, in Matthew 7:1-5 of the Bible, which reads: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

“ `Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye’…”
