LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” (Proverbs 3:5-8).

SC ORDER VS. UP LAW FACULTY PART OF DUE PROCESS: I agree with the Supreme Court order directing the law professors from the UP College of Law to explain their previous call for Associate Justice Mariano del Castillo to resign on charges of plagiarism---this is giving everyone the chance to exercise their Constitutional right to due process.

This should enable Dean Marvic Leonen and his colleagues to vocalize once more why they advocated the resignation of Justice Del Castillo, as it would also enable the high court to expound once more why there was no plagiarism in one of its decisions that would warrant any resignation among its magistrates.
Transparency, after all, will serve the ends of democracy better, and will enable important information to surface and reach a bigger number of our people.

THERE IS A “GREAT FALL” COMING TO US AS A RESULT OF RAINS, FLOODS AND WINDS: I hate to say this once again, but, unless all of us will seriously realize that there is no stopping typhoons, rains, floods and strong winds from battering our country and our people in the days to come unless we go back to God sincerely, we will not be able to save ourselves from the ever-increasing fury of these natural calamities.

I may become the laughing stock of weather and climate experts, but let me tell you that rains, floods and strong winds are coming to us because they are punishments decreed by our Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, simply because of our failure and refusal to listen to His Word and to obey Him.

Unless we listen to the Word of God once again, and unless we obey His commands truthfully once again, as Matthew 7:24-27 of the Holy Bible is saying, there is a “great fall” that Jesus Christ says is coming to us, courtesy of these rains, floods and strong winds.

NO MAN HAS THE RIGHT TO KILL HIMSELF: Why would a returning Overseas Filipino Worker like Marlon Cueva of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, commit suicide and kill himself as his plane was already landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to bring him back to his loved ones?

Reports are saying Cueva had acted strange as soon as his plane took off, asking forgiveness from everyone in the plane, although it was not clear why he was doing so. What was clear, according to some of his co-passengers, was that, he asked for the forgiveness of his sins.

The sins Cueva referred to may have been real grave, to have prompted him to take his own life. But the problem here is that, no man has the right to kill himself, no matter what his problems may be. This life is not ours, it was given to us by God, and so it is only God who has the right to say when and how it will end.
