LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a people to fulfill my purpose…” (Isaiah 46:11, the Holy Bible).

WHAT IS AND KNK? Their curiosity evidently aroused, some of our readers here have started asking me about “Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo” (AND KNK, or the Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ) Church which every so often I have been mentioning in my columns dealing with the Bible and spirituality.

The explanation is simple. AND KNK, to its members, is the Church which God established in the Philippines to perform His work. Many will dispute this, and we will respect their contrary views, but to all of us who have been called to become its members, we believe that the AND KNK is, indeed, the Church which God established in the Philippines to perform His work.

A reading of this explanation about what AND KNK is will show that there are four elements comprising this Church. The first element is that it is a Church. The second element is that it is God Himself who established AND KNK. The third element is that it is in the Philippines that God established the Church. Fourth, it was established by God to perform His work.

FOUR ELEMENTS COMPRISING AND KNK: AND KNK members believe that a church is important in the life of a believer, contrary to claims by some that all that believers must have is a “personal relationship with God”. This is so because God Himself, in His manifestation as the Father and the Son, made clear that a church—especially His Church—is necessary for the salvation of a believer.

This clarification can be seen from Isaiah 46:11 and from Matthew 16:18. In the first verse, God the Father said that He would call his church—referred to by some Bible translations as the “bird of prey” and/or “people”—to do His work. In the second verse, Jesus, our God and Savior, is saying that He will build His church, and that hell will not prevail over it and its members.

In both of these verses, it is also readily manifest that the church will be “called” by God, or will be “built” or established by Him, and by no one else! Which is what it should be, because only the Church “called” or “built or established” by God Himself which can bring about the salvation of believers, by His own express and direct guidance.

AND KNK: CHURCH FROM THE PHILIPPINES: On the other hand, this Church of Jesus is to be established in the Philippines and not in any other place. While AND KNK concedes that the churches established outside of the Philippines can still be appropriately considered as churches of Jesus, it must be clarified that only the Church from the Philippines—or established or put up in the Philippines—will do His work during the end times.

Isaiah 46:11 is clear on this. It says that God’s “bird of prey” will be summoned (or called) by Him from the “east”. Other translations say that God’s “bird of prey” can also mean His “people from a far off land”. Where is this “east” or “far off land”? In the Philippines, of course. The proof of this status of the Philippines as the “east” or the “far off land” is found in history, particularly during World War II, where US, in its fight against Japan, stationed its military force in the Philippines.

What did the US call its military force in the Philippines? USAFFE, or the United States Armed Forces in the Far East. What then will this Church from the Philippines do? Its work is spelled out in various verses: Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Timothy 4:1-2, Jude 23, Proverbs 24:11-14, and John 8:31-32. In a nutshell, the work of the Church from the Philippines is two-fold: proclaim His Word, and save souls!
