LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand…” (Isaiah 41:10, the Holy Bible).

LACK OF FEAR AND LOVE OF GOD WILL SEND PEOPLE TO HELL: Why have government officials become so obsessed in getting as much as they could financially from the positions that have been entrusted to them? The only feasible explanation here is that many of these officials no longer have any real fear and love of God in their hearts that they are no longer bothered about committing crimes.

If these officials have only a mustard-seed fear and love of God in their hearts, they will not aspire for wealth and riches, for then they will know that it would not be good for them to gain the whole world and yet lose their souls in the meantime.

If they only have the real fear and love of God in their hearts, these officials will understand that the Lord Jesus Christ has given those aspiring to become leaders a very stern admonition: he who wants to lead must be the servant of all and anyone who does not heed this warning will surely go to hell.

WHAT WE SHOULD TEACH OUR CHILDREN: To the Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo (Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ) Church, there is really no need for sex education for children of tender ages. What we need to teach them, while they are still young and their minds are still highly impressionable, is spirituality and righteousness, based on the lives and examples of Biblical characters.

If our children are taught to have fear and love of God in their hearts, it is a certainty they will avoid pre-marital sex and similar vices. If our children are taught that many men who followed the commands and decrees of God led good, successful and financially-rewarding lives, they would opt to follow God’s commands and decrees likewise.

The reason why our children are growing up fighting their parents, unconcerned about good manners and right conduct, and totally self-centered and not caring for others, is because they grew up without the Word of God being taught them, and since they grew up without the Word of God with them, God was not also with them.

RULERS WHO FEAR GOD ARE A BLESSING TO THEIR PEOPLE: There are two things that fascinate me about King David:  the first pertains to a portion of his “last words”, quoted under 2 Samuel 23:2-7, and the second pertains to his inability to engage in intimate relations with a young and  beautiful virgin (1 Kings 1-4).

2 Samuel 23:2-7 says: “The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; his word was on my tongue. The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me: `When one rules over men in righteousness, when he rules in the fear of God, he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth.”

1 Kings 1-4, on other hand, narrates: “When King David was old and well advanced in years, he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him. So his servants…  searched throughout Israel for a beautiful girl and found Abishag, a Shunammite, and brought her to the king. The girl was very beautiful; she took care of the king and waited on him, but the king had no intimate relations with her...”
