Sound Snipings

BY Jimmy Cabato

It’s close to 11 pm. Not wanting to miss this piece whenever possible, grinding of this article starts now, even if return trip to Zamboanga is yet scheduled late in the afternoon tomorrow.

This endeavored, believeing that there are souls, no matter in what number, eagerly awaiting the release of Sound Snipings.

This has come to be a delight to this corner.

Are there really this kind of unnerving personalities these days? If there are, they should be burned alive.

Get a load of this, “A 39-year-old jobless man was arrested for allegedly molesting the five-month-old daughter of his common-law wife in Zone 1, Culianan the other day.”(DZT)

The demonic suspect arrested is Rolly Tapic y Desaka.

The devilish act was first noticed when Tapic’s common-law wife, Evangeline Fernandez changed the diaper of her new-born and suspected something unusual in the baby’s genitals, prompting her to take the child to the government hospital for medical check-up.

There it was discovered, the toddler was molested as her genitals bore positive fresh laceration.

Thereupon, the mother reported the matter to the Culianan Police Station.

The following day, policemen led by Sr. Insp. Elmer Solon arrested Tapic after Evangeline pointed at him as the alleged culprit.

The report did not, however, state how the common-law husband was pinned down for the incident.

Tapic was, just the same, detained at the police station, and later taken to the City Prosecutor Office for inquest.

What game is Pres. Benigno Aquino III now playing on the Poe disqualification case?

Only yesterday, Malacañang called for sobriety in the face of the Sen. Grace Poe disqualification in the hands of Comelec’s second division.

Today, he says the Poe disqualification baffles him.

Just so sad, the full story on that which was already recorded in my files are lost.

In any case, what I am driving at is, that gut, no matter how dumb-looking he may seem, appears scheming. He must be up to something. If yes, it can only be something big.

Let’s keep a close watch.

Here is the worst word ever said on the alleged nipped-in-the-bud presidential candidacy of former DILG Sec. Mar Roxas.

Whew..! Very cruel.

The statement comes from Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr.

Boldly, Brillantes said, even if an alleged plot by the Liberal Party to eliminate all rivals of its standard bearer succeeds, he still believes the Administration’s presidential bet Manuel “Mar” Roxas II will not garner enough votes to be declared winner in next year’s elections.

“Even a nuisance candidate can win against Roxas,” Brillantes told reporters on Saturday.

According to Brillantes, Roxas’ rating is not only abysmal. Roxas, he added, is also generally perceived as allegedly incompetent.

Brillantes gave his assessment of the 2016 presidential polls amid allegations the Administration was doing everything to eliminate all the strong presidential candidates to ensure a Roxas election victory. (TMT)

And supposedly, up for disqualification are, VP Jojo Binay, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, including Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago.

And this corner agrees with Brillantes that “they can disqualify Poe and Duterte, but they can’t eliminate Binay and even Sen. Miriam Santiago.”

As to Binay, it is clear, he enjoys immunity from suit. And he can only be yanked from his post via impeachment, which is far-fetched given the time frame.

On the Santiago case, it could only be because health reasons is not a ground for disqualification. And what else is there against Miriam?

For the remaining skeptics, who could still be thinking that the entire Islamic world is happy with the prevailing terrorism worldwide.

Here is yet another classic example, “An Imam in the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday condemns the acts of terrorism by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) that has claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Paris, France several weeks ago.” (TMT)

And the declaration comes from the president of the Imam Council of the Philippines and chief of the Spiritual Ministry Division of the PNP Chaplain Service. He is P/Supt. Ebra Moxsir, Al Haj., who issued the statement not as PNP officer, but as an imam and president of an Islamic ministry.

Time is closing in. Truth is, as this corner never mentioned his location, now you will know. This keyboardist is at Oxford Suites. Particularly at this moment, in its business center, 3rd floor, with his only company is a 2nd big RHB that is about to dry up; hence, “SS” wraps up.    God bless us all.
