LOOKING IN

By ROD BALBON

As what many have been saying, if you’re a good man, why be afraid of him? Only the rapists, druglords, drug pushers, thieves, smugglers, crooks and grafters in the government are afraid of him. Others may have their own personal reasons, like our City Mayor Beng Salazar, who irresponsibly forewarned us not to vote for him because he will give our city to the MNLF but she is not worried a bit that her President Pnoy was giving up a portion of Mindanao to the MILF through the BBL.

But Malacanang is accordingly worried. Rumors have been circulating in the intelligence community, as per reliable intelligence sources, disclosed last Wednesday that it has been wooing Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to withdraw from the presidential race. A police intelligence officer in Camp Crame, who asked not to be identified, said that they have been monitoring the political arena since the start of the campaign period and an emissary from the camp of President Benigno Aquino III has been making communication with the camp of Mayor Duterte. The source revealed that they have been trying to convince Mayor Duterte to withdraw from the race and throw his support behind former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas II, the Liberal Party standard bearer for President. He was accordingly offered a double reimbursement of the total amount he had already spent in his campaign sorties.

Desperate? I believe so. These people have so many baggages of graft and other anomalies which will definitely bring them to jail. They wanted Grace Poe disqualified. They wanted Jojo Binay jailed before the start of the election campaign. They wanted Mayor Duterte also disqualified. And they want Mar Roxas, their “knight in shining armor” to be the one and only President to protect them of all their sins along the “matulis na daan”.

Knowing him to be a crusader and a great nemesis of the crooks and criminals, he will never withdraw from the presidential race and it will only be a matter of time when he will sit as our next President.

Go Duterte. Go.
