Survey firms Pulse Asia and SWS have been feeding the public results of their presidential surveys with Grace Poe as the preferred choice for the presidency followed by Mayor Digong Duterte. These results are now being questioned by political observers and apparently are being fabricated to boost the candidacy of Grace Poe.    Mahar Mangahas, owner of SWS, is a cousin of the late Fernando Poe, Jr. Pulse is owned by the Lopas and Cojuangco. All supporters of Grace Poe backed up by big-time business moguls Danding Cojuangco, Ramon Ang and the Gatchalians, the latter once known as the “plastic king” decades ago. God forbids. If Grace Poe wins, she will be dictated and dominated by big businessmen to protect their multibillion business interest at the expense of the poor Filipino people.

Half-way through the 90-day campaign period, results of the surveys conducted by news firm Rappler showed that Mayor Digong Duterte is way, way ahead of the presidential pack followed by the sick Lady Miriam Santiago. Compared to Pulse Asia and SWS which only limits their respondents to 1,200, Rappler’s base is 50,000 respondents. Also, the results of the mock elections conducted in schools and universities in Metro Manila and in other parts of the country showed that Duterte won by wide margins followed by Miriam Santiago. This is being followed by the mass defections of members from the camp of the LP to the camp of Duterte in the Visayas and Mindanao. Just last week, Congressman Rufus Rodriguez of Cagayan de Oro City jumped ship and publicly declared his support for the candidacy of Duterte. There are reports that Gov. Mandanas of Batangas will declare his support for Duterte following the public pronouncement of the Laurel clan that they are all for the Duterte presidency.

With this bandwagon run, the administration’s LP, hurting from a moribund campaign of their candidate Manuel Roxas, was recently heard to be hatching a black propaganda and psychological war against Duterte. They will try to picture him as a pro-American bet hiding behind the platform of federalism to give US companies easy access to the rich mineral resources of Mindanao. They will also try to picture him as a coddler of the MILF, MNLF, as well the communist NPA. This diabolical and desperate move will be rolled out this week purposely to destroy Duterte and to resuscitate the dying Roxas campaign.

But just half-way to the finish line, this move will not anymore prosper and may even backfire. The people have already seen the qualifications, competence, and virtues of the presidential candidates. Duterte has already the inside track. He has the command votes of the police, military, OFW, blue guards, teachers, the students, and the AB class.

It will only be a matter of time when Duterte will clinch the presidency of the land—the First President from Mindanao.
