Muchas Gracias to our compoblanos who made it at Savores last April 16 at Centro Latino. Unfortunately some could not wait for the event to start as they were hungry, some could not find a sit and table as the place was totally jampacked. But some were lucky to have tried the different “savores” prepared by our local chefs.

I have organized many food festivals in the past, but I find SAVORES distinct from the rest for some reasons. One consideration is the standard of presentation as prescribed in Madrid Fusion , world’s best culinary event, which luckily we were able to attend for two consecutive years ,courtesy of the local government of Zamboanga.

We had to re -echo what we have learned from the events we have attended to be able to upgrade our local standards. It’s not just for the chefs and the restaurants but more importantly for our locals or residents for the latter to appreciate the culinary treasures we do have in the City.

No less than our guests from DOT main office and some media personalities from the national papers like Philippine Daily inquirer and Philippine Star were amazed with the kind of food / cuisine we have.

I look forward to work hand in hand with Director June Bugante of DOT IX for another series of SAVORES to be able to reach out to as many people in the city as we could. Im sure we will both sit down together and rock our brains to realize our plans ,pwera buyag...hihihi!

For those who have guests in the city, you might want to consider the Zamboanga Culinary Tour which we have designed. There is also Air Savings Travel and Tours an accredited DOT agency who handles a tailored fit Gastronomy tour in Zamboanga City. Just visit the City Tourism Office at Paseo del Mar or for more information, you may call at telephone no 9923007. You may also check us out at facebook Turismo local de Zamboanga.
