The plan of President-elect Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte to adopt the policy of 3 children for every couple, is the best move for the country’s unstoppable growing population. The Philippines growing economy right now is only enough for her hundred million population. If divided equally, nothing is left for her reserves. The worst part is, research reveals that majority of families that have more than 3 children are those marginal and jobless Filipinos and rely more on  the government’s social budget and charity. Government’s charitable institutions, like the PAGCOR and PCSO cannot cope with the demands of her poor population for more social and medical assistance and seek assistance from politicians that drive them to corruption, because of the necessity to look good and stay in power.

Highly industrialized Communist China, because of over-population, forced their government to adopt a 1-child policy and violators are meted harsh punishment. Their food production, although contributes largely to their economy and one of the world’s largest food exporters,  yet her vast population in the provinces remain strictly under food rationing. China is the most populous nation in the world followed by India, world reports reveal.

In Southeast Asia, Philippines is next to Indonesia in population but almost last in the bracket of Southeast Asian countries of wealthy nations. Philippines almost import anything from food, textiles and heavy metals to feed our industries. Trimming down the Philippines population with a strict government policy of limiting the number of children that Filipino couples should have will be a big boost to our economy. However the effect will be known in a couple of decades, like a recuperating sick person but the impact will be felt immediately.

Singapore, a rich Southeast Asian nation, began to prosper when her first strongman, a disciplinarian, President Lee Kuan Yew, imposed strictly a population control policy. Industries began to pop up by foreign and Singaporean investors. Their foreign trade doubled and jobless Singaporean was unheard of.  Practically jobs were waiting for new Singaporean college graduates, because their government sent scholars abroad to study modern technology at government’s expense and now Singapore, a tiny island nation is richer than their motherland Malaysia. Today, Singapore has no problem of giving jobs to their population. Their problem now is, their population have more adults than youth because their population control policy has been very, very successful.

The Philippines has never been successful in controlling her population.  Three decades ago the Philippine government engaged in a massive population control by then late President Ferdinand E. Marcos and created a Commission solely for population control, called Offcice of the Population Commission (POPCOM). Distributed for free, birth control medicines with Popcom field men roaming the countryside to teach couples about birth control. But the revolutionary government of the late President Cory Aquino abolished Popcom and the Filipino population just exploded to an alarming number. Here we are now over a hundred million Filipinos from less than 65 million people 30 tears ago and the Philippine peso was one of the strongest currency in Asia.

President Elect Rodrigo Duterte must push through with his population control measures and damn those who oppose it. It is our best hope for a better future. With less people to feed more savings from the income of every Filipino family. Lesser expenses in almost everything from education, medical needs and price of prime commodities. And lesser problem of criminality and  control of peace and order situation. These reasons maybe shallow but the truth is, these are the reasons why our country is one of the poorest in the world.

Scoop: With a strict population control in the country, more couples will enjoy their lives and be happy and the government must also take control of the prices of medicines for sex inducers and enhancers. Because their business will boom overnight. China will again be very happy with the Philippines because they are known to be makers of sex medicines secretly old in our drugstores. Agree or disagree but please do it safely and cleanly to avoid incurable sex diseases A healthy population makes a healthy nation.
