KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS

BY Atty. BATAS MAURICIO

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God…” (John 1:12-13, the Holy Bible).

NO MERCY TO MEDIAMEN’S KILLERS AND MASTERMINDS: With due respect to Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, something stronger than issuing a statement of condemnation has to be done to minimize, if not altogether stop, the rash of media killings and assassinations under the Duterte government. To me, issuing condemnations was the work of lesser presidents and weaker governments.

To make a point, Andanar should retrieve the recordings of broadcasts of broadcasters who have been killed or attacked, and then investigate who were the personalities who were the subject of the broadcasts. These personalities are the only ones who will ever have the motive to kill or injure the broadcaster or the newsman.

The Duterte government should thereafter make an “example” of these possible suspects, by using all its resources to unearth evidence against them and, if the evidence warrants, to prosecute and then jail them. If any of these suspects, no matter how rich or powerful they maybe, will dare escape, or try to fight police authorities, then the Duterte government should not hesitate to kill them, mercilessly if need be. Then, media killings will stop.

QUESTION AND ANSWER: Here is another query from a reader: “I saw a vehicular  accident along Regalado Avenue in Fairview Quezon City, near SM Fairview and Fairview Terraces in the early morning of July 03, 2016, involving a delivery truck and a tricycle which had a sidecar filled with piglets which appeared to have been killed.

“However, my complaint is about motorists from the opposite lane who refused to wait at the proper lane while investigators tried to sort things out, and instead proceeded on a counter-flow in our lane, making the traffic situation more uncomfortable and annoying. Is there a law against counter-flow in our country?”

The answer is, yes, there is a law against counter-flow, and it is found under Sections 35 and 37 of Republic Act 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code. The only problem is that, the penalties for violation of these sections on counter-flow is so minimal drivers will not mind them at all. Maybe we should call the attention of our lawmakers to change the law, so any violation of traffic laws could result in immediate revocation of a driver’s license.

AND KNK, THE CHURCH OF SALVATION IN THE BIBLE: Our items here about the Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo Church (or the Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ) Church drew varied reactions from our readers, here and abroad, most of which signify an interest on knowing more deeply what this Church, known by its initials AND KNK, is all about.

In a nutshell, AND KNK is the Church which God Himself established in the Philippines, in fulfillment of Biblical prophecies, through which God will carry out his purposes preparatory to the end of the world. This claim is branded as preposterous by cynics, but let me assure everyone that the definition of AND KNK is totally derived from specific verses of the Bible.

We will try to explain these verses as we continue to write this column, by God’s grace and permission, for the proper and fuller understanding of critics and believers alike. But let me start by saying that, contrary to the popular belief by so-called Christians around the world, a church is a necessary component for the salvation for man, and that Church is the AND KNK.
