KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS

BY Atty. BATAS MAURICIO

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… (Jesus) went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, `My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine’…” (Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, in Matthew 26:39, the Holy Bible).

WHY ARE DIGONG’S MEN REFUSING A SIMPLE SONA? Now, let me be clarified: if President Duterte wants a simple yet dignified first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 25, 2016, should he not be allowed to get that? And should not his men and underlings obey what he desires, and not insist on their own grandiose funfare?

I am asking these questions because, from official accounts of what is to happen on that day, Duterte’s first SONA is not going to be simple, but grand and even cinematic, unlike past SONAs. The first-ever designation of a movie director to “direct” the proceedings, complete with expensive klieg lights and other theatrical props, will make this SONA anything but simple.

This is making many people think: why are Duterte’s men bent on a SONA that runs counter to what he had been publicly clamoring for? Or, did Duterte really want a simple SONA? Maybe Secretary Martin Andanar of the Presidential Communications Office could explain this disparity in what the President is craving for, and in what his men had been wanting to do.

TEXT SCAMS PROLIFERATE BECAUSE…: Vilma Siriban, a member of the Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo (AND KNK, or the Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ) Church, is asking if the text message she received allegedly from one Atty. Bobby Lopez saying she won P560,000.00  from “BSP/PCF” livelihood program is true or not.

My answer is that, no, it could never be true. Text messages like this, coming from people who you never heard of or from before, are most likely fraudulent, meant only to take your money. The fact is that, if you never joined any program or any raffle draw for that matter, there is no way you can be chosen to receive any prize, monetary or otherwise.

Now, why do text messages like this continue to proliferate? Two things. One is that, many Filipinos (or even foreigners, for that matter) have become truly sinful so that they can do any scam just to earn a peso or two. Two is that, many Filipinos are known to be greedy for money that they are only too willing to be duped by promises of instant wealth. Truly sad!

BOWING DOWN, FACE TO THE GROUND, IN PRAYER: Let us continue today our discussions on the Biblical proofs concerning the Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo (AND KNK, or the Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ) Church, and let us focus on the sixth proof, which is the manner of praying that AND KNK members have been divinely inspired to do ever since its establishment in the Philippines.

At the outset, it should be pointed out in all their prayers, AND KNK members start off with calling on the Name of God, which is Jesus. Thus, their prayers start like this: “O Jesus, our God and Savior, You who are God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit”, and then end with “This we ask in the Name of Jesus, our God and Savior, Amen”. We shall discuss the Bible verses supporting this style of praying next time, God willing.

The other important thing about the way AND KNK members pray is bowing down, with their faces touching the floor, during the entire period they are praying to God, at the end of their praise and worship services. This is taken from the example shown by Jesus, the Biblical basis of which will be shown later.
