“What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” (Ps. 8:4, ESV)

It baffles me, every time, that how in the world a perfect God can still trusts an imperfect, flawed person and a sinner—like you and me! God must be very gracious and extremely good in being such. If we try to scribble those which God gave or entrusted to us, even an entire yellow pad cannot contain them.

To mention a few, the gift of life, our individual wisdom, family, education and etc., they are as endless lists. Why do you think that God does, despite of our sins? The simple answer is, because it is inherent to Him to trust. One truth more that we should understand—every human being is a steward. In our hands is stewardship to all of His blessing He endowed to us.

One day, we will stand, each one, in His presence to give an account to all of the blessings he gave or entrusted to us. Thus, it is expected that we value our stewardship and not to squander them. It hurts God when any of us takes for granted what he entrusts to us.

Please don’t think that it is only the government who’s impaired when trashes are clogging in the riverbanks of Manila or here locally. God, who is our unseen witness, feels the worse pain. The earth is not ours, it is the Lord’s. We do not have any right, whatsoever to abuse or destroy it.

Each of us is His masterpiece. God didn’t commit error when He created you and me. Here are a couple of Bible verses I love most—“For we are God’s MASTERPIECE. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, SO WE CAN DO THE GOOD THINGS HE PLANNED FOR US LONG AGO.” (Eph. 2:10, NLT) “I praise you because I am FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14, NIV)

He was responsible to our coming to earth. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and because of that fact, he trusts us. He knows that you can make a difference which will benefit not just you but also others. We live not for ourselves. The earth is a community. God blessed us that we can become a blessing to others.

Though how little the blessing we receive, God expects us to appreciate them, and much to be responsible for and grow them in the process of time. Hence, we are not to frown when our assets are only little compared to others. “Do not DESPISE THESE SMALL BEGINNINGS, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…” (Zech. 4:10, NLT)

God is in the investment business. Thus, He is willing to go the extra miles to improve our lives and our situations. There was a young boy, his name was Jeremiah. God almighty appeared to him. He refused to the call of God. He reasoned that he was yet young and inexperienced.

“But the LORD said to me, do not say, ‘I am too young’. You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.” (Jer. 1:7, NIV) God was willing to invest and take the risks to a young life. Indeed, as we read the Holy Scripture, the Father didn’t commit mistakes in choosing the young Jeremiah.

Everything started little or at least trivial; that huge mango tree of your neighbor began as a small seed which overtime grew to be that gigantic tree giving shades far as to your house. Our small acts of goodness or kindness are also relative to this truth. Often, our love we show unconditionally to others result significant ripples of good changes to other lives—whom we touched with the love of God.

The best which we can do always every day is to count our blessings. It simply means that we are thankful to God’s goodness; that instead of whining or murmuring, we spend our minutes to constantly thank the Lord. Remember, we own nothing! Everything comes from the Lord. We only have all the necessary graces because the Father endowed them to us.
