“And behold, a voice from heaven said, ‘this is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”’ (Matt. 3:17, ESV)

Nothing may equal when you can walk daily in an open heaven. It was in the Jordan River, where hundreds lined up to submit in a water baptism by a prophet, he was John the Baptist. Amongst those who were baptized was Jesus; after he rose our from the water, the Bible said that the heavens opened and there was that voice which declared, to those who were around, that the man is God’s son whom He is well pleased.

Through our Lord Jesus, we can live in an open heaven. He is the ONLY way, the ONLY truth, and the ONLY life, no man can come to the Father except through HIM. (John 14:6) He is our sole access—as in like a key, a pin or a code, towards the Father. “Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Rom. 5:2, ESV)

An open heaven is a life of goodness, blessings, guidance, safety and etc. Such is what the Lord Jesus promised, if we follow Him. He took our infirmities, our sins and curses; those God replaced them with His forgiveness, blessings and salvation. When Jesus was nailed on that tree, two thousand years ago, a holy exchange took place. He bore our sins and unrighteousness, so that we also be clothed by His own righteousness.

Admittedly, 2017 may also have challenges, mountains and trials, but if we walk with God, He will give us the necessary strength to overcome them all, and that we can come out from any of those as victorious. I know a friend, who is an engineer by profession. He was just married, almost two years now, and his wife just gave birth to their firstborn.

This young man came from an average family. He also had his sheer of pressures during his formative years. I remember, he would usually stay by in our church to strum our acoustic guitar and sing to God, with only P20 in his pocket. It has been 9 years since, and his life changed forever. He is presently employed to a big company and he is also running a little business in photography.

I am a witness to the personal journey of this successful young man. He lives in an open heaven. Blessings are more than just the physical things or money. They are an entire package which also includes the emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects. These things God has already provided and gave us through the Cross. Jesus paid it all!

Increase your expectations to our God! Never doubt and hesitate to approach the Father. Come always to Him in prayer. He sees the contents of your heart. He knows what you would ask Him even way before you begin to utter your lips. God is omniscient. He can read our minds and He knows the inside recesses of our hearts!

Ask more from the Lord. God is not offended if we constantly approach Him. He is not annoyed in our petitions. In fact, He loves to see us coming to Him often. He is our Father, and we are His tender children. He loves us so much beyond measure. Do you know that He even watches us while we are asleep and He mumbles all the time that He loves us!

Ask especially those which He promised to you. There are personal things that you hold dear inside your heart, because you know that it is Him who promised such to you. Until they will become a reality, never stop to demand them to Him. In Acts 2, the 120 disciples were in prayer and fasting for 10 days. They waited for the promise of the Savior to come, which was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. They never ceased to bother heaven, until the promise came to pass.

The naked truth is— God is moved when we claim from Him that which belongs to us. When the Lord paid the price at the Cross, you and I were totally set free. He cried with all of His strength, “it is finished”. The penalty of sin was already satisfied through the sacrifice of the Lamb of God. Thus, we now can live in an open heaven.

St. Paul unraveled a mystery in 1 Cor. 2:9, “But, as it is written, ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.”’ (ESV) To those which God has prepared for all of us, they are without measure; they are the ones which our eyes have never seen, nor our ears have heard, and our minds imagined!

Saul was the first king of Israel. He never thought that he would become a royalty one day. He left their house just to look for their lost donkey. In three days, he scoured their neighboring towns to find their lost animal. Then he was met by a prophet and later was anointed to be the leader of Israel. Thus, his life changed forever.

David was only a shepherd. His monotonous life was with the bleating of their family sheep,at the backside of the desert. But he had his date with destiny. He also was spotted by God and promoted to be a great king of Israel. Joseph was in prison for about 10 years from a crime which he never did. But God visited him and lifted him out from his dark dungeon, to become the Prime Minister of Egypt.

“He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and on them he has set the world.” (1 Sam. 2:8, ESV) We have our different stories and callings. God deals us uniquely. Lift up your eyes to Him.
