BY BETTY ELAGO

When I was younger, the days and the hours seem longer, and as I reached my golden age, I feel that time is running fast! The days and nights appear shorter. I’m sure the senior citizens will agree with me.

This doesn’t mean I am feeling insecured. There’s a drive within me that says I should strive more to make the best of my life better even in my way of writing only. Sharing my thoughts to others might be beneficial to them especially to the young adults, who still have a lot to do with themselves, to do better things, like helping our poor fellowmen to uplift their lives from poverty.

I do feel frustrated sometimes to think that I haven’t done much in my life, because I was busy rearing my own children and attending to my home and husband, where I learned how to cook, clean the house, attend to the laundry also, when there were no helpers. I also became busy with civic clubs, but this is not enough for me.

I forgot to put God as the center of my family life. How I wish I did it earlier!
I really never got lost. My faith in God was always there, but I should have strived better to make my relationship with Him better. This is what I tell my married children, to make God as the center of their family life and they will be happy!

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolence to the Saavedra family on the demise of Ramon Saavedra, who had joined our Creator last Aug. 6, 2011. His interment was last August 13 at Forest Lake Park. His wife Minda and his children abroad came home for the interment. To all of you, Ping, Boy, Diday, Maricris and Lourdes, again, my heartfelt sympathy!

Talking about noise……yes, the videokes are creating a lot of noise in the late hours of the evening. This should be regulated by our barangay officials, our policemen
and other agencies. Bar owners should be advised to stop loud music at 10 p.m. As stipulated by the law. Sirs in the barangay, do your job please, when it comes to the welfare of your constituents.
