LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.  For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you…” (Deuteronomy 30:15-16, the Holy Bible).

FOREIGNERS AND CRIMES IN RP: Illegal drugs, smuggling, profiteering, hoarding, tax evasion, human trafficking, illegal gambling, gunrunning, and many other heinous crimes. As things stand in the Philippines today, any mention of any of these crimes and wrongdoings will surely involve foreigners.

Undeniably, foreigners appear to be masterminding and are benefitting from all of these, and, until President Duterte came, they seem to be impregnable and untouchable. But, yes, nothing lasts forever, even the earth and the sky. A time of reckoning is going to come, although from the point of view of many, that time is taking a long time coming.

The foreigners’ stories in many places in the world is eerily uniform, even from Biblical times. At first, they were small in number, weak, and were heavily dependent on the generosity of the citizens of the country where they have taken up residence. As time went by, however, they became numerous, wealthy, and powerful, becoming the masters of those who lorded it over them in olden times.

HOW FOREIGNERS CAME TO LORD IT OVER NATIVES: In the Christian Bible, the earlier books there talked about loving foreigners as if they were fellow citizens. The admonitions had always been, do not oppress or mistreat foreigners. The reason was that the Israelites were themselves foreigners in Egypt who were mistreated and oppressed.

After God brought the Israelites out of Egypt, He told them not to similarly oppress or mistreat the foreigners that would come to reside with them. Yet, almost imperceptibly, some kind of a change in the status of foreigners came about, when the Israelites stopped listening to, and no longer obeyed, God.

Instead of serving the Israelites, foreigners became the masters of their formers masters. Thus, the Bible recognized that, because the Israelites turned their backs on God, the foreigners residing with them would already become richer than them, and would in fact become the rulers of the Israelites.

AFTER PINOYS IGNORED GOD, FOREIGNERS BECAME THEIR MASTERS: This is what is happening in the Philippines right now. The foreigners who have resided with us, once content with selling “lugao” and buying “bote garapa”, became outrageously rich. Many of them have in fact become our political and government leaders, with two persons from Fujian, China, even becoming our presidents  for 12 years!

Surely, this is happening because it is all too clear that Filipinos have stopped listening to, and have refused obeying, God. Many of us no longer read the Bible, no longer attend masses or praise and worship, and think, speak, behave, and look, as if there is no God, as if we are not going to die and face God in judgment at some point in time.

We can still change this misfortune. I therefore call on all Filipinos who consider themselves “native Filipinos” and who are already fed up with the excesses and the abuses of many foreigners to start a “movement to go back to God”, by reading His Bible daily, studying it day and night, and carefully obeying everything that is written in it. The promise is that we shall become victorious and prosperous! Lets do it (with apologies to the late Sen. Juan Flavier).
