LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves…” (Romans 13:1-2, the Holy Bible).

AGUIRRE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT DOJ? Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has to be replaced now to hasten the filing of cases against former President Noy Aquino, former Health Secretary Janet Garin, and former Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, relative to the Dengvaxia vaccine scandal which many believe caused the death of children who were injected with it.

This was the plaintive reaction of those who read my Facebook post (my account named Melanio Lazo Mauricio Jr., or in which I expressed dismay over the very slow action of Aguirre on the Dengvaxia issue. I also took note of the fact that cases should have been filed against Noynoy and his officials a long time ago yet but, then, it woulds always be better late than never.

“SORRY, I KNOW NOTHING”, NOYNOY SAYS ON DENGVAXIA: It should be very clear by now that Noynoy’s only defense on the controversy surrounding the Dengvaxia vaccine of Sanofi Pharmaceuticals (a French company) was his “lack of knowledge” of the dangerous effects of the drug on Filipino children. He said, he did not know, as he lacked knowledge, that Dengvaxia was actually pernicious.

Well, this is certainly a highly obnoxious and shameful explanation from Noynoy, given to those wanting to know why his government hurried to pay some P3.4 billion to Sanofi for the Dengvaxia vaccine, and its obviously criminally-negligent use on hapless and defenseless school children. If he was not aware, or lacked knowledge, of the real effect of the drug, why was he in a hurry to inject it on Filipino children?

ARE LAWMAKERS IN SERENO CASE TRUE CHRISTIANS?  I am apologizing to the readers of Kakampi Mo Ang Batas, but I really vomited hard while I was listening to a part of the hearing of the House of Representatives on the issue of the impeachment of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Aranal Sereno. Why? Because of the impression of being “clean” and “righteous” which lawmakers tried hard to project in their questioning on Sereno’s alleged tax liabilities, making her look like she was the only who had sinned.

Ladies and gentlemen, those propounding the questions are supposed to be Christians, who professed they are followers of Jesus! But, could they be true followers of Jesus, obeying what He decreed that only those who have no sin could cast accusations against their fellow human beings? Is it not a fact that many of those in the House also face countless cases of graft and corruption? Are they qualified to judge others?

THANK YOU MAYOR GUIA, MAYOR MENCHIE: My wife, former Paranaque City Judge Angelina Domingo Mauricio, asked me to commend, in this column, traffic enforcers assigned along Santolan Road and P. Guevarra St., in San Juan City, and along Nueve de Febrero St. in Mandaluyong City, because they have been assuring continuous flow of hundreds of vehicles in those thoroughfares mornings and afternoons. I tried to see for myself by passing through those streets last Tuesday, February 27, 2018, and, wow, I too was impressed!

This is what we have been harping on since time immemorial: if leaders of government are true in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities, are showing good example and nothing could be hurled against them in their public and private lives, we can all be assured of equally good service by their subordinates. Thus, I also congratulate San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez, and Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos. Mabuhay to the two of you!!!!

WHY ARE PEOPLE IN RELIGION THE ONES VIOLATING THE BIBLE? To the women who were wearing long dresses and whose heads were covered by veils to reflect their membership in a religious organization that joined in the People’s Power Revolution commemoration on February 25, 2018, there are questions for them from the public: is it not a fact that in the Bible, it is required of everyone to subject themselves to governing authorities and not to fight them?

Does not the Bible teach that those who rebel or fight against their leaders would receive due punishment, because leaders were installed by God Himself? So, why were those long-dressed women acted as leaders of the fight against government officials? Did they not know that what they were doing contravened the Bible? Or, did they believe (or have studied, at least) the Bible?
