City Vet skeds rabies vaccination in barangays PDF Print E-mail

The City Veterinarian Office has scheduled rabies vaccination in the barangays for the month of March in line with the Rabies Awareness Month celebration and its continuing campaign to prevent and control the spread of rabies.

City Veterinarian Dr. Mario Arriola said veterinary teams will be deployed to Pasonanca from March 5 – 7 and March 12- 14 for the conduct of mass anti-rabies vaccination and in barangay Canelar from March 19-21.

Specific schedule is March 5 – East Side welcome to Deep; March 6 – West Side welcome to junction and Sunrise Village; March 7 – Luyahan; March 12- Lantawan; March 13 – Carmen Valley Abong-abong area and March 14 – the rest of Pasonanca. From March 19-21, the City Veterinarian team will make the rounds of the different sitios and purok in barangay Canelar for the rabies vaccination.

Meanwhile, the Rabies awareness Month celebration kicked off March 1 with launching activities held at the City Coliseum in Tetuan. Highlight of the activity was the Sing and Dance competition where Patalon Elementary School (Labuan District) emerged as champion followed by Sta. Maria Central School as first runner-up and Tetuan Central School as second runner-up.

A total of 7 school districts participated in the Sing and Dance competition that focused on the celebration theme “Barangay Kaagapay, Laban sa Rabis Tagumpay” and aimed to encourage the active participation of the barangays in the control and eradication of rabies in their respective areas of responsibilities.

Dr. Arriola said the launching activity was also highlighted by the ceremonial rabies vaccination with the special participation of American Bullies (bulldogs).  (Sheila Covarrubias)
