God did not create man to live in bondage. Man is destined by his Creator to live a life of freedom, in all aspects of his life. But when he fell, sin fully bound him. Crimes are also a by-product of sin; hence, bondage has then evolved to be a literal one—for society to remain a civilized place, the State must also severe the physical liberty of criminals.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (Jn. 8:36, ESV) Notwithstanding, if a man gives and surrenders his life to the Lord, Jesus will set him free. Such freedom where he was originally designed by God shall be the same freedom which he will receive from the Lord. It includes freedom from sin and death, from curses, and also sicknesses or diseases.

There was a young man who was a total problem to their family. He was a drug dependent and a local thief in their place. Well, maybe as to supply his wicked vice, his only resort was to steal. The vice of illegal drugs is an admitted expensive one. But one day, this young man heard the Gospel. He then surrendered his life to the Lord.

His personal transformation was pretty dramatic that the locals in their place could not somehow believe his new life. In fact, few years later, he also went to study in a Bible School and had graduated to become a minister of the Gospel. Such is the freedom the Lord gives to those who will follow Him. Please do not think that the Bible is only an ordinary book. Or its contents are powerless!

It is the other way; whosoever reads that holy book shall surely be affected to its innate power. It ain’t the mere letters and ink which have the power to change lives. It is the message written therein. We can hear people discourage others not to read the Bible, because according to them one may become crazy if he will explore the book.

It is wrong instead. Are there how many crazy people I know whose lives were creatively changed by the power of God when they read the Bible! To be crazy is not only literally meaning those insane individuals we see downtown, who are not anymore in their good minds. One can be crazy to drugs, alcohol, gambling and the rest. The Bible is the antidote to these kinds of negative addictions.

God is real, although He is invisible. Similar to the wind and electricity; we do not see them but they are real. Prove something to poke your finger in those live sockets in your homes and then tell me if electricity does not exist! In fact, we see God everywhere through His creation. Have you seen the vast ocean? Such did not just come by accident, somebody had created it in the dawn of history—God.

Another example is your person. Your intricate physiology is too much to be a random result of evolution. God created you! He created you and me according to His image and likeness. Thus, we are a spiritual being—created in the pattern to the nature of the almighty. “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (Jn. 4:24, ESV)

One of the worst things which anybody can be at: is to live in an utter bondage. Curses exist. Do you know that there are many families everywhere, who are living under the curses of poverty? It started in the story of Adam and Eve. God pronounced, “By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (Gen. 3:19, ESV)

The curse of poverty can be broken if we accept Christ’s gift of salvation. Now, there is another source of the same curse. It is the sin of idolatry. Have you noticed that countries in the world which are idolatrous suffer abject poverty, that despite that their countries are rich to natural resources? The curse of poverty can also be generational.

In this wise, anybody who gives his life to the Lord, he must undergo a personal deliverance so that the same curse can be broken. Indeed, the Father has given us the necessary way out. Christ became a curse so that we can be blessed; he was forsaken so that we can be accepted; and he was also bruised and wounded so that we can be healed from sicknesses and diseases.

Friends, you will not regret if you will follow the Lord. You might have tried everything already, but each of them has failed you to the bone. How about trying God this time? Say this simple prayer: “almighty God I need you in my life. Forgive me from all of my sins, and now I am giving my whole life to you.”

If you have prayed the prayer above, I believe that you have been born again. Read the Bible; second, find other believers like you.
