LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind…” (Philippians 2:1-2, the Holy Bible).

GOLD GREATER THAN ‘YAMASHITA’ LOCATED IN RP? Treasure hunters still searching for the fabled “Yamashita gold”—a cache of fabulous treasures rumored to have been buried in the Philippines by then Japanese Gen. Tomoyuki Yamashita at the close of World War II—I have a news for you. There appears to be a bigger reserve of gold here in this country, much, much more than this Yamashita gold!

Current research works indicate that the Philippines is actually the Biblical “Ophir”, a group of islands “in front of China towards the sea, where Moluccans, Chinese and Lequios met to trade”, which, the Bible said, was the source of the gold that King Solomon used to build the temple of God in his time.

I hope this piece of information can be seriously looked into, for several practical reasons. If proved to be true, then Filipinos must be allowed to enjoy the benefit of this fabulous wealth. If proved to be false, then no one should be duped into believing it again and again.

CONGRATS, COMM. RUFFY BIAZON: Let us pray to God that new Customs Commissioner Rufino Biazon can do something substantial against the well-known, well-connected, and greatly-rich smugglers victimizing the Philippines, earning billions while impoverishing the government, the country and the people. But, the system is rigged against him.

Even now, no smuggler of note has been haled to court, to answer for their greediness. Even now, the cases that have been filed in earlier times against some big businessmen remain mired in administrative delays. Even now, it is bruited about that many of those who violate the law on customs duties and tariffs are truly untouchable, because of their “generosity” to many of those in power. Oh well…

PRAYERS FOR A COURAGEOUS CUSTOMS OFFICER: Even then, I commend the bravery of lawyer Simeon Caparroso Jr. of the Intelligence Division of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in naming Lucio Co of the supermarket chain Puregold Price Club, Inc. as the owner of imported goods believed to be part of the cargoes of some 1,900 containers reported missing early this year.

Caparroso, or Jun to his fellow incumbent presidents of the different Rotary Clubs comprising District 3810 of Rotary International, based his information on statements given to him by Jimmy Go of Uni-Nexus Trading and Conrado Ybanez of Intercontinental Trading, after their arrests by the bureau.

In a report submitted to the BOC, Jun said Lucio Co was pointed to as the one who ordered Go and Ybanez to bring the imported goods to other warehouses instead of being delivered to their original destination in Pasig City. Wow!!! Let us pray that God will take care of Jun in this crusade!

GOD’S CURSES, PART V: Here are more curses from God, listed in the Bible through its Deuteronomy 28:15 to 68: “Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand. A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days…”

HAVE OUR SHIP CAPTAINS TAKEN UP MANAGEMENT COURSES ALREADY? So, Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz is saying the government “has formally informed” the European Commission of the supposed corrective measures to improve Filipino seamen’s training, but the question remains: have Filipino seamen, especially ship captains, already undergone the management courses required by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for their continued employment?

I did not read, from the press release of Baldoz, that our ship captains—all 12,000 or so of them—have already taken up the required management courses from accredited schools, even as of now.

PINOY SHIP CAPTAINS STILL TO LOSE JOBS: This means, in simple language, that our seamen will still be kicked out from their jobs real soon, as predicted by Emmanuel Regio, the president of Island Overseas Transport Corporation and of the EastGate Group of Maritime Companies, last Friday.

I hope Baldoz can really do something concrete about this problem, other than issuing a press release, and thereby prevent our country from losing some US$1.4 billion annually, representing the salaries of the ship captains who will be affected by the IMO requirement.

DID MIKE AND AL NEED A MONER? To those who know the kind of a relationship that former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and former Manila International Airport Authority Manager Alfonso Cusi had during the Arroyo presidency, believing the claims of Sharia Court Judge Nagamura Moner will be extremely difficult.

Why? Because Mike and Al were so close to one another that any delivery of money intended to buy votes, from Mike to Al, as Moner claimed he did, could have been done directly by Mike to Al. There was absolutely no necessity for a third party, like Moner, to receive the money from Mike, and later on to deliver that money to Al.

Indeed, why do you think was Al appointed Manila International Airport Authority Manager? It was because of his closeness to Mike, that’s why.

GOD’S CURSES, PART III: Here are additional curses from God, as listed under Deuteronomy 28:15-68 of the Holy Bible: “… The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will come at them from one direction but flee from them in seven, and you will become a thing of horror to all the kingdoms on earth.

“…Your carcasses will be food for all the birds and the wild animals, and there will be no one to frighten them away. The Lord will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, festering sores and the itch, from which you cannot be cured. The Lord will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind…”
