LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom...” (James 3:13, the Holy Bible).

BERNABE TO SC: GOOD SHIFT FOR JUDICIARY: The appointment of the youthful Court of Appeals Justice Estela Perlas Bernabe to the Supreme Court signifies a good shift for the judiciary—young justices could only mean fresh and invigorating insights and directions on how to interpret the law, especially on pressing concerns confronting the country and its justice system.

This is what the Philippines needs, at this point. I am sure Justice Bernabe will be pre-occupied with how to interpret the law without fear or favor in her projected long stay at the high court, without the usual rush, visible among other much older appointees in government, to provide for retirement.

Congratulations, Madame Justice Telly! God chose you, and may you find what He wants you to do in your lofty position. As John 15:16 of the Holy Bible quotes Jesus Christ, our God and Savior: “I chose you, you did not choose me, so you can go and bear much fruit, so that whatever you ask from the Father in my name will be done for you.”

ROTARY GOLF TOURNAMENT ALL SET: I am reiterating my invitation to all golfers out there who may wish to try their luck in winning a brand-new Kia Picanto sedan car, which will be given out to a “hole in one” winner during the October 8, 2011 golf tournament of the Rotary Club (RC) of Intramuros to be held at the Club Intramuros Golf Course in Intramuros, Manila.

RC Intramuros leaders say that all interested players can come and join the tournament, even if they have not previously bought a ticket. All they need to do is to simply proceed to Club Intramuros on the day of the tournament itself and register, and pay the playing fee of P2,000.00.

Outright give-aways will be given to participants as they start to play. Free lunch and snacks will be served, courtesy of the Club. The ceremonial tee off will be at 6:30 a.m., to be led by former Tarlac Rep. Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr., and possibly Vice President Jejomar Binay and Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim. Please call me at 0917 984 24 68 or 0922 833 43 68 for further queries.

GOD’S CURSES, PART VII: We continue today with the list of God’s curses which will be heaped upon a people who no longer listen to Him and who no longer obey His commands, as written in Deuteronomy 28:15-68:

“…You will have sons and daughters but you will not keep them, because they will go into captivity. Swarms of locusts will take over all your trees and the crops of your land.

“The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower. They will lend to you, but you will not lend to them. They will be the head, but you will be the tail…”
