PAG-ASA CONFIRMS BIBLICAL WARNING VS. FLOODS: “PAG-ASA warns of more floods, landslides” was the headline of the Philippine Star last Friday, October 7, 2011. Our weather bureau may not know it but, it is actually confirming a Biblical verse quoting Jesus, our God and Savior, in Matthew 7:24-27, warning about the coming of deadly rains, floods and winds.

GOODBYE, STEVE JOBS, THANKS FOR THE IPAD, ETC.: The sadness of the world about the untimely death of Steve Jobs, the creator of IPad, IPhone, Itunes and many other computer innovations, is understandable, for Jobs changed the world with his ingenuous inventions. The challenge he left—for those he left behind, to be more innovative than he ever was—is a hard one to hurdle. Being a genius, after all, is a highly personal trait.

CHARTER CHANGE TO REMOVE ANTI-GOD PROVISIONS: May I repeat here that I am in favor of Charter Change or an amendment or revision of the 1987 Constitution. But then, I am suggesting that amendments or revisions or any changes should not focus on economic provisions alone. Let us remove the parts of the Charter which are obviously anti-God and anti-Biblical, especially those which contradict Romans 13:1-2. Then, we shall see a really successful Philippines.

BRILLANTES BROUHAHA: There are two sides to the statements attributed to Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. of the Commission on Elections, indicating that former President Arroyo and husband Mike Arroyo maybe jailed indefinitely even before Christmas 2011 for poll fraud.

The first is that, Brillantes is really desperate and desirous of influencing the findings of the joint Comelec-Department of Justice committee which is investigating the Arroyos. This is bias and prejudice, which should not have been displayed at all.

The second is that, Brillantes merely reported what the joint committee was doing and what it intended to do. There should be nothing wrong with this, but then, Brillantes could be guilty of premature disclosure, which could endanger the work of the committee.

GOD’S BLESSINGS, PART I: Today, let us start reading the promises in the Bible about the blessings which God will give to those who listen to Him (or to those who read His Bible) and to those who obey Him. They are found in Deuteronomy 28:1-14. Read on:

“If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

“The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed…” More to follow!!!
