When media TV and radio reporter Teodyver “Teody” Arquiza ran for the position of Barangay Captain last year in one of our city’s distressed barangays, Talaon-Talon, he knew that he will be facing bigger challenges.  His once “peaceful” barangay is now always in the cross road of troubles because notorius criminals pass by to escape.

Talon-Talon was a quiet place to stay then, and development can be seen by the increasing of houses and subdivisions being build there in the past years.  However, sad to notice, Talon-Talon is now in the news now and then because of rising criminalities not of its doing. The infamous September siege too has affected the place because some of its shore line communities like the Layag-Layag is under its jurisdiction. Main Talon-Talon High School is partly occupied with IDPs (internally displaced persons).

The priority of Kapt. Teody today is to face upfront the criminals in order to spring back Talon-Talon to its feet. Talon-Talon has to be secured day and night to bring it to back to progress, he deems. Kapt. Teody is always in close coordination with our Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar as well with our police and military forces. Thru the leadership of Kapt. Teody, Talon-Talon residents are cooperating with him and are very protective of their area.
Kapt. Teody has been doing various activities to keep his barangay alive and alert. Good thing his background experience during  his Kagawad days has molded him to be a competent servant leader. He aims to make Talon-Talon a serene place to raise a family and a potential business area to invest in. Rebuilding his barangay as one of the better and comfortable places to live in Zamboanga City is his ultimate goal.
