Zamboangueño top radio broadcaster Rod Marcelino of RMN brings honor PDF Print E-mail

There is another Zamboangueño media personality making great waves in the air over Greater Metro Manila – radio broadcaster Rod Marcelino. He used to be one of fave local announcers of RMN-Zamboanga before he was promoted years back to their Manila station. 

For the second time, RMN Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon, where Rod is a co-host, won for Best Radio Public Service Programing in the 22nd Golden Dove Awards of the Kapisanan ng  mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP). The awarding ceremony was held last April 29, 2014 at the Star Theater, CCP Complex in Pasay City.

Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon, now on Year 4, airs every Saturday from 1230pm to 1pm at Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) DZXL 558 kHz. It is hosted by National Nutrition Council Executive Director, Assistant Secretary of Health Maria-Bernardita  “Bernie”  Flores and Rod Marcelino. The program brings to the public current, correct and relevant information about nutrition, nutritional requirements of various age groups as well as deficiencies, and the various interventions of government, both national and local, as well as the private sector to address the factors that bring about malnutrition.

The KBP Golden Dove Award is one of the prestigious media annual awards as broadcast practitioners, stations and programs are given recognition for their excellent contribution to the broadcast industry. People from allied industries, advertisers, and the academe are invited as judges.
It was created twenty-one years ago to give recognition to the men and women of the broadcast industry who rendered outstanding performances in their respective fields as well as programs produced with quality following the KBP’s broadcast standards.
The KBP or the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (Association of Broadcasters of the Philippines) is the foremost broadcast media organization in the country, composed of owners and operators of radio and television stations, and the radio and television stations themselves.

RMN (Radio Mindanao Network with its famous slogan Radio Mo Nationwide) which is  Philippines largest radio network today has almost 60 company-owned AM & FM radio stations located around the country. The station started in Cagayan de Oro City that has spread successfully throughout the nation is now venturing in television.
