In celebration of its anniversary this month of August, STI College Zamboanga City has lined up a month-long activities to commemorate a meaningful celebration of thanksgiving.  An opening salvo was the exciting inter-level competition of animation and video editing last August 1. It challenged STI’ers to create a video of student’s transformation in this institution with the contest entitled, “STI Transformer Video Contest .”

The contest’s concept was in line with the school’s mission, “We Care, We lead, We Transform, We Are STI.” The video shows viewers how students of STI or the STI’ers are taught and trained to be well prepared to face the challenges after graduation.    It is a proof really how STI-Zamboanga in the last 22 years has been producing one of the best IT (Information Technology) talents in Western Mindanao. What is more admirable too with this institution, it has been accepting students from all class levels of society – from private to public schools, from this city and from nearby islands, from all economic levels, offering scholarships – and making them the best they can be.

10 sections from all levels participated under the guidance and mentorships of their advisers.  Their video entries were uploaded in the STI COLLEGE ZAMBOANGA “I Lead I am STI Facebook Account.”  The grand champion and the other winners were deliberated and chosen by the number of FB likes. Based on the positive comments shared, all videos were really at par and deserved to win.

However, the top slot was won by the CT/ITT 112 of adviser Angelica J. Mañalac. Their video passed the stringent criteria of the contest. 1615 STI-Zamboanga FB viewers liked it too.  Special awards was given to ACT/CS/IT  114 under adviser Ryan Jimenez for the Best Transformation Storyline Video. BM/AT 211,311,411 of adviser Eliasa Bernaldez won the Most Outstanding Student Transformation Video.  The Most Liked FB Video went to the CS/IT/ACT 113 of adviser Jinky Davalan.

One of the best reasons too why parents send their children and why students love this school are the competent and very supportive faculty members and school administration. The graduates are guided and helped find the best jobs after school.

Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” (NIV)
