The business topic of Pep Talk today will interest more the IT people who have a business idea or concept but lacks the know how to implement it and the financial means to start it. There is an upcoming event, “Fishing 4 Angels,” that will link aspiring them, “technopreneurs,” with successful business investors (a.k.a. angels or ‘angel investors’) who are keen to support the development of their new business idea or concept.

And it will happen on September 19 at the Grand Astoria Hotel, wherein screened technopreneurs will have their chance to pitch their ideas in front of the angel investors. The technopreneurs will be given a three to five minute chance to pitch their business idea to the angel-preneurs who will decide if they are worthy of support.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring such a unique and innovative event to Zamboanga by giving the ‘best of the best’ technopreneurs an opportunity to make it big, given the right investment and support from our well established business community” commented Michael Tui Lim, acting President of the Zamboanga ICT Council.

“Our local talent is already gaining some serious national and international attention. We believe Fishing 4 Angels will showcase the fact that we have all the right ingredients to build home-grown startups, which can easily compete with the biggest players in Manila and abroad.”

“It’s such a win-win situation; our local business community is anxious to know how they can tap into the ICT industry and Fishing 4 Angels is a perfect platform to make this happen. We have our share of prominent business leaders who are very aware that the Filipino ICT industry generated $16 Billion USD last year. They’re anxious to know how they can find the smartest investment opportunities and the timing couldn’t be better,” Tiu added.

Technopreneurs with great business ideas are encouraged to apply for this event. Interested parties should contact the Zamboanga ICT Council at the address show below. It is open to all – students, creative, and business people who are into IT.
