From yellow boat to bring children from islands to schools, the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation (YBHF) has expanded and  built a yellow-colored dormitory for girls, named Yellow Dorm of Hope- Sagip Bahay for Girls Yellow, at Kabasalan National High School (KNHS) in Zamboanga Sibugay. This is to house school girls who lived in far-flung barrios and have to hike long hours (4-12 hours) just to attend school.

Now that they have a free place to stay, the school expects to decrease the number of drop-outs for these students. It is located inside the school campus and was inaugurated last December 20, Saturday, with the full support of the Tzu Chi Foundation, Republika Ng Filinvestor, and  Bag943 (Be A Giver)'s Bag of Dreams Project. They also donated bedding, pillows, and other basic commodities.

Like the noble purpose of its yellow boats, this project of YBHF hopes to raise the number of underprivileged Filipino youth to go to school and be educated.    This is in line with the school’s KNHS Sagip A Student Advocacy Drop-Out Reduction Program spearheaded by the school principal Dr. Coleen Emoricha and program chairman Dr. Estrelita Ampo-Peña. YBHF president Dr. Anton Lim coordinated it with Dexter Tsang, founder of the Sibugay Funds for Little Kids, local partner of YBHF.
