JB Francisco, president of the Zamboanga Press Club Inc. (ZPCI), led officers and members of the club in donating used clothing to more than 20 IDP’s (internally displaced people) senior citizens at the PTSI Transitory Site in Calarian, Zamboanga City, yesterday.

This noble activity was part of the ZPCI Share-A-Gift Project the club did the whole day. Later, the club visited also close to 50 elderly inmates of the Zamboanga City Jail and donated food and detergent soaps.

Keep up the good work, ZPCI!

GOD’S Command. God is willing and able to use us, no matter how young, and no matter how old we are. We should always remember that God wants us to care for, respect, honor, and value the elderly (including and especially our parents). Every one of us- old and young, adults and kids… we all have our their strengths, and we can all learn from and appreciate each other.

We should show respect to and value everyone, regardless of age or status. We should make the most for God while we are young – not wait – We should start to obey and serve God as soon as we can. We should teach our children and young ones to do the same. (http://www.jollynotes.com/inspirational-verses/age-verses)

Leviticus 19:32 “Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord.” (NIV)
