For whatever reasons they are in prison, Zamboanga Press Club Inc. (ZPCI) remembered the elderly inmates of Zamboanga City Jail before the year 2014 will end. Last December 27, the officers and members of ZPC visited and gave them gifts of used clothing, food, personal and laundry soaps.  It is one way to send a message that people still cares for them and there is hope when they get out of prison.

This is the second part of the club’s Share-A-Gift Project 2014 of ZPCI led by president Jaybee Francisco that same day. Earlier, the club also visited the IDP’s (internally displaced people) senior citizens at the PTSI Transitory Site in Calarian, Zamboanga City and distributed gifts.

Aside from updating the clubs member’s knowledge and skills thru seminars related to the 4th estate, ZPCI is conducting community services as part of its CSR (corporate social responsibility) programs.

Matthew 25:35-46 “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?”
