From early morning to dawn – from sun rise to sunset, all throughout the day and night, there were happenings everywhere from January 23 to 25 in Iloilo City. The long stretch eight lane Iloilo Diversion Highway was full of parked cars. All the business establishments were making hala-bira in profit. Pep Talk surmises their cash registering the whole day. All hotels fully booked for one week. Economy from December to January is very good in this city.

Ambassadors and dignitaries from other countries joined Philippine Senators and showbiz personalities in what is really the biggest merry making and party of our country – Iloilo Dinagyang 2015.

Congratulations to Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog, Governor Arthur Defensor and Congress Jerry Treñas for the success of the Queen Festival of the Philippines - Iloilo Dinagayng. What is amazing too people from all walk of life, rich and poor, of different religion, and nationalities came to this place and had fun.
And Pep Talk is glad to be a part of it.

Dinagyang is an Ilonggo term for "merrymaking". It is a religious and cultural festival both to honor the Santo Niño and to celebrate the arrival on Panay of Malay settlers and the subsequent selling of the island to them by the Atis. The main highlight of the festival is the Ati Ati Dance Competition which is held every 4th Sunday of every January.

This year winners are: Grand Champion: Tribu Panayanon of Iloilo City National High School ; 1st Runner-up: Tribu Paghidaet of Lapaz National High School ; 2nd Runner-up :Tribu Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School ; 3rd Runner-up: Tribu Salognon Jaro National High School; and 4th Runner-up: Tribu Ilawodnon of Fort San Pedro National High School.

For special wards. The Best in Music went to Tribu Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School ; Best in Costume to Tribu Paghidaet of Lapaz National High School; Best in Streetdancing to Tribu Salognon Jaro National High School; Best in Choreography to Tribu Panayanon of Iloilo City National High School, and the Best in Performance to Tribu Panayanon of Iloilo City National High School.
