7th ZamPen Business Conference welcomes delegates PDF Print E-mail

The annual 7th Zamboanga Peninsula Business Conference opened with a simple ceremony but well attended participants from different sectors yesterday. Philippine Chamber of Commerce Inc. (PCCI) Edwin Capili gave the welcome remarks after PCCI Regional Governor Elvira Tan called to order the conference proper at the C & L Sea View Hotel along Quezon Avenue of Dipolog City.

The first day conference had the opening of the 3-day conference trade fair at the Lee Plaza. Dipolog Davao Mayor Sara Duterte was the special guest who cut the ceremonial ribbon with Dipolog Mayor Evelyn Uy. Zamboanga City has a booth there to promote the business and tourism opportunities of Asia’s Latin City. Three of our active city councillors, Mike Alavar, Rey Candido, and Nonong Guingona represented our city. Zamboanga City Agriculturist Diodado Palaca also attended this event for prospective study of the agricultural business opportunities in the region as well as present Zamboanga's business opportunities.

This conference is an annual gathering of all PCCI-affiliated chambers within Western Mindanao. It tackles the programs, issues and concerns of all business sectors in coordination with different responsible government agencies. This year’s theme is “Zamboanga Peninsula SME’s: Facing Challenges, Creating Opportunities”.

Dipolog City Chamber of Commerce Mike Malacca, the conference’s host chamber, said the special conference’s guest of honor is Senator Jinggoy Estrada. The Zamboanga City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Inc. (ZCCCIFI) is represented by its Executive Director Dante Corteza and former Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Director Severino Landingin.
