Thanks to the social networking site Facebook (FB), I am updated with what Zamboanga City is doing for the victims of the Sendong Aftermath in Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City.  FB connections really work! There are many swift and heart warming responses in FB.

Among the firsts that called for help were the Tzu Chi Foundation-Zamboanga, Help CDO-Zamboanga, and ADZU. It was followed and supported by the Zamboanga City Government, Rotary Club of Zamboanga City, Budgetwise, Petron Gov. Lim, Nestle-Zamboanga, Unizam, Camera Club of Zamboanga, RMN-Zamboanga, DOLE-9 Zamboanga, and ABS-CBN-Zamboanga. I am sure there are many other organizations and private individuals who are doing on their own in reaching out for donors and kind hearted individuals to give.

Since not everyone is not into FB yet, I am sharing in Pep Talk today the latest FB updates on Sendong Ayuda from Zamboanga. ADZU’s SACSI Office (hotline 991-3711) in coordination with Tzu Chi Foundation is volunteering to gather all donations at the university’s gym and deliver them to CDO and Iligan for free. A 40-footer container van will transport all donations to CDO’s Xavier University. There is a Charity Bazaar at the Tzu Chi Great Love Eye Center at the Zamboanga Medical Center. Donations can be drop-off too at DOLE-9 Veterans Avenue Office, RMN-Zamboanga in Pilar St. and ABS-CBN Zamboanga in San Jose.

For pick-up of donations, contact cp # numbers 09177113366, 09209287562, and 09263309878, or landline 991-6209, 991-2487 and 991-0226. Aside from cash, what are needed are food items, bottled water, clothes, blankets, etc. Thank you for concern photographers for sharing their Sendong pictures in the internet which I am sharing in this column.

Sad Media News. 2 journalists based in CDO and Iligan died  and 15 others lost their homes during the Sendong havoc.

No truth that Pres. Benigno Aquino III was unmindful of what’s happening at CDO and Iligan. His picture partying with artitas circulated in the internet implicating that he doesn’t care. This photo was published with a series of tweet messages of an artista to a friend as proof of story (sic) and was shared in the internet. Certain netizens “felt heroic and helpful” to the sendong victims by re-sharing photo and bashing the president.

The truth P-Noy took only a 5-minute break from monitoring and meetings on the Sendong rescue and relief operations to join the nearby Christmas gathering of the PSG and their families set already.

(Proverbs 3:27). “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.
