Let me add one more word to the three worded love phrase made popular by TV Host/actress Kris Aquino as the title of my column today. I hope Pep Talk readers will agree with me that it is true love that can make our life complete. And I am happy to note that Valentine Day is not for lovers only in this decade, it is already a Love Day for everyone. It does not mean that you can’t celebrate Love Day because you don’t have a lover, a girlfriend or boyfriend, spouse or a special someone.

In the Philippines (I am not sure with other countries), V-Day is the day where all restaurants, bars, and hotels are full with Filipinos going out. The favorite hang-out must go in Zamboanga City is the annual Valentine Party at Kape Zambo in Canelar where acoustic musicians will play for diners, the sumptuous Valentine dinner at the Grand Astoria’s Lotus Restaurant and by the pool side of Astoria Regency Center. Musical shows are also a favorite happening for lovers, families, and friends to date. In Asia’s Latin City, famous comedian Nanette Inventor will have a fund raising hilarious valentine show at Garden Orchid Hotel sponsored by Claret High School Batch ’87 on February 14.

Aside from flowers, chocolates are the most popular V-gift. They are such an irresistible temptation. Zamboanga’s best Myrna’s Bake House has a variety of affordable sweet delights that will surely appeal young or old, men or women, sweet tooth or not. Thanks too to By Gems Party Kingdom, we can give bouquet of love balloons as a new way to express our love. They really brighten up the day of the recipient and bring happy smile. And when we’re stressed out, treating ourselves and loved ones for a relaxing spa massage at Biocare Spa Center is heavenly.

I don’t know how you will celebrate this day but don’t forget the most important above all – share the love of God within us. True love starts with God’s love. We can unconditionally love and give respect to others if we are ourselves are overflowing with love.

The second greatest love command is “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. This comes next from the first and greatest commandment, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37–39). Following this true love command surpasses everything.
